blogSTAR is a website created to enable the entrants in the OSTAR 2009 to share their stories with those at home, family, friends and other sailors. The website is kept intentionally simple, its power lies in the functionalities offered to the sailor who will be able to send stories or photos using satellite phone, mobile phone (when in range) or SSB radio at no cost at all. The sailor can even simply call to leave audio messages direcltly on blogSTAR. The shore editors will keep everyone up to date with the latest developments feeding news and commentaries as the race develops. Minimal prices are applied in order to cover logistic costs for coming, sleeping, eating and moving at the event location... Photographers are not trying to gain money with their photos.
